Read Cathi's ReviewA great start to this fantasy series! Sure to engage tween and teenage girls, the narrative offers a solid feminist message (unlike certain other popular series). With some subtle romance and more complex themes that start to emerge at the end of book one, the second book promises to be even better.
For me, the slowly unwinding mystery and the evolving depth of the ancient prophecy are the aspects I personally enjoyed the most. Imaginative and at times harrowing, this is the beginning of a planned series. I am looking forward to more adventures with these characters in future books.
Looking for something different in the fantasy genre? Then definitely grab a copy of Five Corners by Cathi Shaw. I really liked the different story line and I was really intrigued about the mysterious mark and the deaths of others with the marks.
