Finding Your Spark

I’m so excited that the first session of the Master Class series for Fiction Writers will run this Sunday (January 10th) from 2-4pm at Sing Your Song Studios in Summerland, BC. For participants who are out of town, we will also be offering the course via video conference.

Some people have been a bit hesitant to sign up for the course as they feel they are not expert writers. The idea of this Master Class series, however, is not designed for students of any specific skill set. Instead it’s been created to help those who have a longing to tell their stories. Basically it is open to anyone who wants to write.

My vision when I created this series was to take a writer from idea to pitching a piece for publication in five months’ time. You might not think of yourself as a writer yet but if you write, you are a writer. It doesn’t matter if you are published or not, or even if you’ve ever finished a piece. What matters is that you write.

In the first session “Finding Your Spark,” we will discover the tools for getting the ideas in your head down on paper. Through creative free writing and structured planning you will leave the first session with a spark lit that will carry you through to the next session in February. You will be surprised at how much you can accomplish in 4 weeks!

In addition to the two hour face-to-face class, each participant will have access to a private, password protected online space for sharing ideas and some writing, all my notes and handouts, my PowerPoint slides and a link to the video recording of our first session and personalized feedback from me.

We still have a few spaces left. If you want to register email or call Rochelle at Sing Your Song Studios.

Remember you already are a writer! Make 2016 your breakthrough year!
